•  How does RapidRead™ differ from all the other speed-reading courses such as Evelyn Wood?

Our material is based on the most up-to-date research on reading skills and comprehension. In addition, many speed-reading courses offer tons of materials along with DVDs all of which can run into hundreds of dollars. We are offering the same basic techniques in a course almost anyone can afford.

•  I'm already an excellent reader. My reading rate tested at over 800 words per minute with 85% comprehension. Do I really need to read any faster?

Absolutely! The better your reading score from the test, the greater improvement you can expect. We've had students who increased their reading rate by 1500-2000 words per minute. The fastest reading rate ever recorded was 25,000 words per minute! So the faster your reading rate the more you will read, and you will continue to get more and more enjoyment from your reading.

•  My child is a poor reader. How can the RapidRead™ course help him?

First, you will need to complete the course yourself. Once you've mastered the improved reading techniques, you can begin teaching him how to improve his reading and comprehension. You will see an immediate improvement in his overall grade average in courses such as history, sociology, and literature.

•  How old should my child be before taking this course?

You cannot begin too early! Research shows that the earlier parents begin teaching their children proper reading habits, the better readers they will become. If your child is just beginning to read, now is the time to begin training him/her to become an excellent reader.

•  How can I know if my child is reading at the proper level for his age?

•  My reading score was just above average. What can I expect from this course?

The average to above average reader can expect to double, and in some cases triple his/her reading rate and increase comprehension by 15-20%. Some do even better than this. It all depends on the effort you are willing to invest. We suggest you go through the course at least twice. The second time through will give you the greatest benefit.

•  How hard is it to break old reading habits? I'm over 50. Can I really expect to double my reading rate after all these years?

You are right. It is not easy to break old reading habits. However, we've found that if you practice the new reading techniques for 30 days, about 10 minutes a day, you will find the new way of reading so much better that you will never want to go back to the old habits.

•  How long will it take me to complete the course?

If you follow the basic instructions we provide in the course, you should be able to finish it in one sitting of about two hours, or maybe a little more. Then a day or two later, go through the entire course again. So an investment of 3-4 hours will give you a return of many years of pleasurable reading!

•  My child is preparing to enter college next year. How can I know for sure she will do well—how important is reading to her success?

There is a syndrome all too familiar to college profs. One recent study by researchers at the Manhattan Institute found that only 34 percent of high school grads are equipped for the rigors of a four-year college; many of the rest are forced to enroll in remedial courses. When professors and employers were asked how well prepared high school graduates are for college or work, 70 percent of professors (and 41 percent of employers) said students' inability to read and understand complicated material is a serious deficiency. So the fact is, you child's reading ability will improve as a result of the small investment you make in this program.
